This IS The Way

"This is the way we cover our sores, cover our sores, cover our
sores. This is the way we cover our sores so the flies will not put
filth in them," nearly 200 children sang with us in the Patpatar
language.
As we have gained progress in the Patpatar language we have been
able to do small one day schools to help the community. In July, we
did a one day school for the children in the villages of Bom and
Burau. We (including
Avalon) taught them some games and then taught them a song using
the tune, "This is the way we comb our hair." The song contained six
verses each with a simple message like listening to their parents,
eating their greens, sweeping their village of trash, taking baths
with soap, and cleaning their teeth.
As we are now getting to the place where we can communicate
simple things like these to the Patpatar people, we are excited for
the future. We look forward to not only teaching lessons in health
for this life, but more importantly lessons for the life to come.
OUR PARTNERS ARE BACK: The Kunzers arrived back in the tribe on
July 11th. Pray for them as they get settled back into the work, and
have a year alone in the tribe to look forward to. They will be
diving back into language learning right away. Also pray for them as
most of their solar panels were stolen just before they got back to
the tribe.
Though we are enjoying having our partners back and are enjoying
working with them, it is already time for us to start getting things
ready for our "home assignment." We will be heading to the States in
August for one year. We will give you more information in the next
New Guinea News.
ALL for Him,
Aaron, Lori, Avalon, and Sierra
