Requests Answered / Co-Workers Part 3
The last New Guinea News I sent out was a special request for
prayer in three areas. It still amazes me how God answers prayer.
Thank you to all of you who are holding the ropes in prayer for us
and our ministry. Here is the latest report on the three prayer
requests:
1. Matmal who was deathly sick is alive and well. She is still in
the
town of Kavieng and just waiting for a car to get back to the
village so she can resume her normal life.
2. Our truck, which also seemed to be on it's deathbed, is on the
mend.
The fuel problem has been fixed and the new brakes put on. Only
some fine tune adjusting and bleeding the break lines remain for it
to be back to normal.
3. We have not had any further problems with security. Though we
are
still working through the village leaders about a final solution.
We have heard no more threats, their have been no rocks thrown for
two weeks, and two of the men who broke into the houses were found.
I was going to wait until the next newsletter email to tell you
about another type of co-worker, but this is a perfect example. Part
1 on co-workers was about partners. Part 2 was about support
workers. This part is about Supporters. Many of you fall into this
category. Supporters are those from the home country who do their
part to keep us on the field in Papua New Guinea. Supporters keep us
and our ministry alive by prayer. The above answers to prayer is a
perfect example of the power of God through you to us. Supporters
also keep us on the field through finances. We have a tremendous
group of individuals and churches who faithfully give to meet our
monthly needs as missionaries.
Another way supporters help is by giving in extra ways. Recently,
two of our supporting churches and many individuals made it possible
for Lori's parents to come to Papua New Guinea for the first time to
see us (see picture below). Supporters provided not only the means
to get here, but also gave many gifts which Gene and Diana were able
to spoil us with. This was a great time for us to see family again,
for the grandparents to renew ties with Avalon and meet Sierra for
the first time.
Thank you for being part of our team, for being one of our
co-workers, for being our supporters. Thank you for praying, giving,
sacrificing, and encouraging. We could not be here doing our job
without co-workers and we are glad that you are a part of it.
