We
hope that you have a wonderful celebration of our Savior’s human
birthday. It is amazing that God chose for
Himself to have a beginning (on earth) so that we could
have no end. Thank you for each of you who have had a part this
year in our ministry in Papua New Guinea, so that we will be able
to share with them the reason Jesus came to earth.
This year we
find ourselves relating to the first Christmas in the fact that
Mary was “great with child” and that there was “no room in the
inn.” Though Lori is not carrying the Messiah, she is great with
child this holiday season and can relate to the way Mary must have
been feeling. Please remember Lori and the baby as the due date
is quickly approaching. Also, right now we are feeling like there
is no room in the end. For the moment we are without a home. We
packed up and left the mission base to go to Port Moresby to have
the baby. After the baby is born we plan on moving straight into
the tribe. Thankfully, the innkeepers (the missionary couple who
look after the guesthouse in Port Moresby) have done a great job
setting up the guest flat and making us feel at home. Meanwhile,
there is some trouble regarding our land situation in the tribe.
The last email we wrote shared how we were able to clear a piece
of ground for our house to be built on. Just this last week some
disputes have come up in the tribe over who really owns the land.
They are not fighting over whether we should come, but who has the
right to say we can come. Because of this, at the moment, we will
not be able to build there. Pray that God will allow this
situation to be resolved or for another piece of suitable land in
the tribe to become available.
Because of
Christmas,
Aaron, Lori,
Avalon, and ?
