Prayer Letter - New Guinea
News
October 22, 2002
We’re packing up and leaving…
but before I tell you why I’d like to tell you about our time in
Kandrian. As mentioned in our last “New
Guinea News” email, we spent nearly two weeks filling in for a
ministry on the south coast of the main island. We had a good time
looking after the guest house and the mission property. Though
there were some miscellaneous jobs to tend to, it was a break from
our routine in Hoskins and allowed us some time to pray and think
about decisions we had to make.
One of those
decisions was about whether or not to leave. And we have decided to
leave…the missionary base! We are headed tribal! We finally have
an open door to begin a work in a tribal location in Papua New
Guinea, and see God leading us in that direction. The name of the
tribe is Patpatar. It is the tribe we
visited where the Marbachs are located.
The Marbachs are in a village called
Bom and the Kunzers
will be as well. We will probably end up in either the village of
Bom
or the next village Burau. We are very
excited about our opportunity to work among the
Patpatar people. There are many details to be worked out
yet, and I will be making a few trips in and out of the tribe to
talk with the big men and begin preparations for our house. Thank
you for your prayers through the last year, as we have been
specifically asking for partners and peace about a location to work.
Lori is now in
her last trimester and the baby is proving to be very active. So,
along with making preparations to move into a tribe, we are also
preparing for the new member in our family. Avalon is growing up
fast. She has been a big helper, since she turned two, but
sometimes that help means more work for us. We have enjoyed her and
look forward to her interaction as a big sister.
As you can see we
have many new adventures ahead of us in the next few months. We
wanted to pass along our news about the tribe right away. Thank you
for being a part and making it happen.
For the glory of
the Creator,
Aaron, Lori,
Avalon, and ?
