Prayer Letter - New Guinea

Avalon’s 2nd Birthday – July 28
For many of you, you have wondered where we have been. Well,
hopefully this note will update you and let you know how we are
doing. Thank you to all of you who have inquired, prayed, and
continued to faithfully support us here on the field of Papua New
Guinea. As well as many things happening lately, our computer hard
drive went out and our computer has been down for a couple of
months, so we haven’t been able to do our regular emailing. This
also means that we have everybody’s address and email from our last
major back up quite some time ago. So, if you have moved recently
or changed your email address could you please send us the
information again. And since we are
sending this email with our old address list, please let others know
if you think they may not have received this.
Since we made it back from the States in the first part of June
(for a three week trip to be in Aaron’s brother’s wedding; see
Lori’s brother’s graduation; and get some medical and dental
check-ups) there is a lot to tell. But, instead of telling it all
in one long email we will try to send a few shorter emails in the
next few weeks.
BOOM!!!! The big news! No, it is not the erupting volcano a few
miles from us. We will tell you about that in another email. The
big news, (which by this time is getting bigger…literally) is that
we are expecting our second child. Lori is due in the middle of
January. We will travel just before Christmas
to Pt. Moresby the capital city of Papua New Guinea. There
we will be able to have the baby in a simple but clean and nice
private hospital with a mid-wife from New Zealand. We will also be
able to do all the necessary paper work for US citizenship and a
passport and visa for the little one right in the city. We are all
excited and Avalon on occasion will point at Lori’s tummy and say,
“my baby.”
Glad to be back up with a hard drive and in touch with you. Please
remember to send us your new information and pass this note along to
those who may not have received it.
